COVID 19 and its Impact on Australian Immigration

In this present scenario, the entire world is facing continuous threats due to COVID 19, for which things are not functioning the same way as it used to be. People are trying their best to maintain social distancing and the country governments are taking measures to educate their country people about this virus, and take all necessary actions for their safety.

When immigration is concerned, it means that an individual from a different country is going to migrate to that country and vice versa. So, it is obvious that the country's government should be well concerned that their country people are not going to get infected with the virus coming from these new migrants.

Travel ban
Taking all these things into consideration, for the further safety of the country people, the government of Australia has introduced a Travel Ban, which is mainly applicable for the Temporary visa holders and the non-citizens of Australia.

Limitations of Travel Ban
That means, if you are holding a temporary visa and you are outside Australia, you can not travel back to Australia during this time. However, if you are a permanent visa holder or an immediate family member of an Australian citizen or a permanent resident, you will be exempted from this ban.
On the other hand, if you are a temporary visa holder and you are in Australia, the ban does not stop you from departing Australia.

The Travel Ban does not stop you from applying for any kind of visa. Visa processing will get continued the same way, as it used to be and you can travel to Australia once your visa gets granted and the travel ban is over.

This Travel Ban does not affect the Applicants of  Skilled VisaEmployer Sponsored Visa, and Family Visa.

As for Skilled Visa, it is a long term requirement of the country and for the Employer-Sponsored Visa, it is an immediate requirement of the Employer, the COVID 19  Travel Ban will give permission to these applicants to enter the country.
The immediate family members like the spouse, dependent children, legal guardians of any citizen, or a permanent resident of  Australia can enter or re-enter the country during this period.

If you are a student and planning to migrate to Australia, you can definitely apply for the Student Visa 500. Measures can be taken where you can start your course through online classes in your home country and you can move to Australia, once the travel ban is lifted.
